Your child learns in a live online class of up to 8 students, at the level that fits them best, with teachers who are scientists and educators, most holding a PhD or master’s degree.
Every child can love math. We teach it as thinking, not memorizing, in live online classes small enough for every child to be seen and heard.

How It Works
Placement, Live Classes and Progress You Can See
- Take a free placement assessmentYour child answers the questions at home. We recommend a course and one of three levels, and a child can move up later in the year.
- Join live, interactive online classesSmall, engaging groups where every child takes part. Grades K to 3 meet twice a week for one hour, grade 4 and up once a week for two hours. The year runs 34 weeks, September to June, and a child can join during the year: the placement sets the level.
- Follow progress in the portalsStudents can retry a wrong answer and raise a hand for the teacher. Parents see attendance, scores and time spent in real time.

Who is behind Avatar?
Avatar Learning Center was founded in 2020 by four women scientists who hold PhDs. Most of our instructors hold a PhD or a master's degree and have worked as scientists or engineers.
How is this different from school?
Your child works at a level chosen for them, not at the pace of a whole school class. Our curriculum is our own: generally aligned with what schools cover in each grade, and it goes further.
How do I know it is working?
In the parent portal you see it as it happens: attendance, each week's homework and quiz scores, time spent, and progress over the year.
