Questions about paying
What Parents Ask About the Price
Is the placement assessment really free?
Yes. Thirty minutes online with one of our educators, a written result by email, and the course and level that fit. No cost, no obligation.
Are there any other fees?
No. There is no registration fee and no materials fee: the plan price is the whole price. Slides, homework and the portals are included.
What does a month include?
The weekly live class of up to 8, one homework set a week checked the moment it is submitted, the student and parent portals, and three free 30-minute one-on-one help sessions a semester, for a topic or a missed class.
How does this compare with a private tutor?
A private math tutor in the US typically charges $40 to $80 an hour, more for high school and test prep. An Avatar class comes to about $30 per class hour, with a teacher who holds a PhD or a master's, in a group of up to 8, and three free 30-minute one-on-one help sessions a semester are included.
What if the level turns out wrong?
The teacher moves the student to the right level during the year, at no cost. A child who is ahead can start the next course a year early.
Is there a discount for siblings?
Yes, on the academic year math classes: two siblings enrolled at the same time each get 5% off; three or more each get 10% off, on any of the three plans.
What if we need to stop?
One month's notice, by email, and the plan ends at the end of that month. There is no fee for leaving.
