How does Avatar match tutors and students?
A free assessment comes first, and we then choose a tutor who teaches the subject your child needs and fits how they learn. In the assessment we learn about your child's strengths, gaps and goals, and the kind of teacher they usually work best with.
Which grades does tutoring cover?
Tutoring covers every grade from elementary school through high school. We also offer SAT and ACT prep for college-bound students.
How are tutors selected?
Every tutor goes through a background check and a skills assessment, and most hold a PhD or a master's degree. Avatar Learning Center was founded in 2020 by four women scientists who hold PhDs.
How long are tutoring sessions, and how are they held?
Each session lasts one hour, with one student and one tutor, live online. The package sizes are listed under Tutoring Packages.
Do you offer test preparation?
Yes. We provide one-on-one SAT and ACT prep, and we also prepare students for math competitions such as Math Kangaroo and Math Olympiad.
How can I follow my child's progress?
In the parent portal, where progress reports show how your child is doing.
